TEATRO Ristorante & Pizzeria in Xanten

Ordered the take home NYE Dinner, and it was phenomenal. The quality of the ingredients, the easy-to-follow instructions to rewarm/cook the meals, made this a wonderful and memorable socially-distanced New Year's Eve. Oh and one of the best Beef Wellingtons I've ever had.

We love Teatro!! We always come here when we are taking in the Calgary Philharmonic. The service is impeccable. Taylor the Sommelier is amazing. He found us the perfect wine yet again. He knows exactly what we will like at the perfect price point. You never feel rushed or crowded and you never have to wait for anything.

Sensational food. Best restaurant in Calgary hands down! I am surprised and delighted every time I go. I have always enjoyed my meals here and the ambiance is second to none. Nothing else like it in Calgary.

Otherworldly, elegant, dazzling, perfection. These words and more describe our dining experiences at Teatro Ristorante. Stepping through the doors you're immediately taken by the exquisite decor, and upon taking your seat you know you're in for a treat. The food, service, ambiance, everything is outstanding. We love this restaurant so much we had our wedding reception in the dining room. We keep getting compliments 3+ years after our special day of guests reminiscing on how beautiful it was and how much people enjoyed their experience, food, everything. We love this restaurant so much and cannot wait to have many more date nights to come.

Food is normally awesome. Today it wasn't as good but hopefully just an off day.

Went with my daughter, they customized a little pasta dish for her! food, drinks, staff, environment were all really nice!!

Made a reservation about a week in advance for girlfriends bday, hoping for a nice table. Instead, when we show up for our reservation, the rude and pushy maitre d insists that we have to sit in the opera room aka a the dingy room in the back without any ambience. a huge part of coming to this restaurant is the ambience and open kitchen, so it was odd to have our reservation changed last minute without anyone telling us. the service was fine, and the food was good, but took forever, but it was pretty clear they are just overbooking the restaurant and ripping people off. lots of better places downtown that actually value your business.

Wonderful experience here. Place was welcoming as soon as I walked in. Lots of room between tables. Service was prompt and pleasant without being overbearing. Our table went with the tasting menu and wine pairing which turned out to be a great choice with a lot of variety and really really good food. Overall highly recommend this place.

The food was not good at all, barely warm, mushy and tasteless. Very disappointed!! I don't get out very often and expected much more from a high end restaurant!!! Very disappointed! Wonderful service, terrible food!!

Awesome place to dine

Great high end restaurant with attentive but not over bearing staff. The food is perfect and is always consistent. I would recommend this place for special occasions or bringing out of town guest.

Still one of the best dining experiences in Calgary.

Service was good, but I got sick from the Salmon dish, I was there on Tuesday for my wife’s birthday. Her dish was good but my dish was quite possibly the worst meal I’ve ever had in Calgary. The Salmon was raw, barley was salty and undercooked and the sauce just was bad. At the end of night I kept burping because of the terrible rotten food I just ate and the manager was asking if I was waiting g for a cab as if I was drunk, I didn’t have any alcohol at all.

We came for dinner to celebrate a birthday. This was our second time visiting. First visit was for Valentines day. Valentines dinner was unbelievable. Food was amazing, service was great, left very full. Overall a memorable night. However, this time was very different. The food was just alright. Service was ok..we left not feeling as full or satisfied. Our personalized dessert for the birthday which we were expecting wasn't delivered . It was definitely a disappointment in comparison to our first experience. I don't really see us returning to be honest..for the price, would rather eat at Hy's on Stephen Ave

I've been here a several times now and each time I leave feeling like the food was good but not memorable. However, I would like to note that the service was exceptional.

This remains my favorite Calgary restaurant. Enough said...

Great date night place . Awesome food and service

This restaurant was amazing and had an amazing and patient staff. I came with my wife and 2 kids, and the staff waiters were so patient and polite. We tried the linguini Nero plate which was delicious. The service was fast and accurate. I totally recommend the restaurant for anyone visiting Calgary

Lovely place to take a date. Service was great and the restaurant is set in a grand old building (former bank) with high vaulted ceilings. Great place to splurge and the patio is fantastic.

Always impressed with the 10 course chef’s tasting menu and wine pairing. We love the atmosphere and ambience inside. Always a must-go when guests come in from out of town.

Our experience was outstanding. The service, and especially the food was absolutely amazing. We've lived here for 20 years and regret not coming sooner.

Great all around experience from the moment we entered to the time we left. The host and servers were amazing, the food was great and the wine suggestion was A+.

Definitely the more expensive Italian place in the city. Food is amazing. The restaurant gives a warm feel and staff are amazing.

Great date place

On the plus side: - The decor is unique and special. - The food is tasty, of good quality and it is abundant. - The service is very attentive. - The wine list is extensive. On the less attractive side: - Prices are expensive. I get that you get what you pay for but it must be known. - The wine I picked, at the low end of the list, which starts around $60.00 and goes into the thousands, was ok only. Again you could argue that you get what you pay for. In defense of Teatro, the staff mentioned up front that they would replace the wine if it was corked or not good. Overall good. Must be prepared to pay.

I'll get it out of the way. The food here is delicious. The restaurant is filled with delicious smells right when you walk in. The service is okay, but I wouldn't blame the servers, because also in the restaurant was the most entitled, obnoxious group of men I have ever seen. The group of 7 or 8 (it was hard to count because many of them kept disappearing for long periods of time) were loud, rude, and drunk. Why they were allowed to bring in a case of wine, I don't know. On top of that they were completely disinterested in social distancing or masks. I have no idea why management allows tables like that to take over there restaurant. I won't be back. This restaurant is clearly not interested in social responsibility regarding alcohol OR pandemics.

Visiting again after 3 years and the restaurant is still gorgeous, with the same great vibe. Service was professional and friendly. The food started great, the mushrooms on toast a real satisfying delight. They served a good old fashioned, perhaps a little on the sweet side. The striploin was a little on the firm side and the Ribeye was perfect. The Ribeye main dish overall was a bit of a miss. The "grilled lettuce" served with it felt completely out of place and the dish would have much better been served with something more wholesome. Top marks for effort, but lettuce simply does not belong with a ribeye.

The food here is great, but the most noteworthy thing I want to publicly comment on is how easy to work with and understanding they've been with first our wedding planning and then second our unfortunate need to cancel our wedding due to COVID. We'll definitely be back when we re-schedule a reception after things clear up.

From out of town and here on business. I have been here for a month now and this is the only restaurant I've been to more than once. Everytime I go the meal was better than the last. The staff and service are just as good as the meal!

Had dinner here back in November 2020 for a birthday celebration. The host, server, cooks and especially Chef Alex they did wonderful job. We had a fun night and delicious food. Thank you.

I hadn't been in to Teatro in a long time, but decided to make a booking for my Birthday. The service was on point and the food was all incredible. I will definitely make an effort to come in more often as it is well worth it. Thanks to the staff for an incredible evening!
